lets be honest the all electric car is not ready for prime time but what fun to build one. people who do usually do it for fun and education and for going to the store, why not!
the hybred is one way to get the range. locomotives like the GE EVO have a 12 cylinder diesel engine. 4500 hp 1050 rpm's drive a 15,000lb alternator that runs the 6 electric drive motors. everything is drive by electricity even the air compressor.
here why direct drive gas engines have about 65% efficiency while gas electric are more in the range of 85%. so if you make and all electric car for around town. you can add a smaller gas engine to power an alternator for long distance driving and if it runs on LNG you have no pollutants. win/win.

Your'e right, EV's don't have much chop but only a moron would think that the combustion engine was only released after they had achived top speeds of 200kpm with ranges of 600km.
Before leaving dim witted comments you really should think about what you are saying? can't match todays ICE lets not try.

I cannot believe that these morons think that they have created a viable electric car! This thing is pure novelty. When they build an electric car that can actually take you where you want to go, anytimeyou want to go, then you can say you've done something. This is amateur hour at the
local garage.

The problem with these conversions is that they lack what every EV lacks - a practical battery. EESTore and their fabulous solid state storage devices will be available this year for conversions by ZENN Motors. That is the only conversion I would pay anything for. I'm not so silly as to think that the carbon savings from going electric from one 20 mile range electric car have any siginificance. They don't, and those who are proud of themselves for doing so are pure frauds.Just more greenwashing.
